Senegalese-American singer-songwriter, record producer, businessman, and philanthropist
Akon is a Senegalese-American singer, rapper, record producer, and philanthropist. He released the albums Trouble and Freedom and helped launch Lady Gaga and T-Pain through his Konvict and KonLive labels and mixtape series. Akon is known for his numerous collaborations on pop, dance, and hip-hop hits in the mid-to-late 2000s, including popular songs such as Smack That, Right Now (Na Na Na), and Locked Up. He developed his own cryptocurrency called Akoin in 2018. Akon has also appeared in the documentary Lady Gaga: One Sequin At a Time, the films American Heist and The American King.
