David Bowie was a British singer, songwriter, musician, and actor. After releasing his self-titled debut album in 1967, Bowie regularly adopted new sounds and styles across another 25 studio albums including 1971’s Hunky Dory, the following year’s The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars — listed at No. 24 on Apple Music’s 100 Best Albums list — Young Americans in 1975, 1976’s Station to Station, his experimental 1977-1979 “Berlin Trilogy”— Low, Heroes, and Lodger —and Let's Dance in 1983.


During the 1970’s, he also co-produced Lou Reed’s Transformer, The StoogesRaw Power and Iggy Pop’s The Idiot. In the late 1980's and early 1990's, Bowie released two albums as part of the rock quartet Tin Machine. He was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1996 and released his final solo album, the Grammy-winning Blackstar, on January 8, 2016 — two days before he passed away from liver cancer.
Fame, Heroes, Let’s Dance, Under Pressure with Queen, and Dancing in the Street with Mick Jagger are among Bowie’s most popular songs. His acting career included roles in the films The Man Who Fell to Earth,  Labyrinth, Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me, Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence, and Zoolander.
